Ingredients

  • 1 package bacon
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 sheet nori
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 avocado, peeled, pitted, and sliced

Directions

  1. Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Grill the bacon until crisp, about 5 minutes per side.
  3. Cook the sushi rice according to the package instructions.
  4. Mix the toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar into the cooked sushi rice.
  5. Lay the nori sheet on a sushi mat.
  6. Spread the cooked rice onto the nori sheet.
  7. Spread the wasabi paste onto the rice.
  8. Spread the mayonnaise onto the rice.
  9. Lay the bacon strips onto the rice.
  10. Lay the avocado slices onto the bacon.
  11. Roll the sushi up with the sushi mat.
  12. Cut the roll into slices with a sharp knife.
  13. Serve.
