Ingredients
- 1 cup of rolled oats
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of chopped dates
- 1/2 cup of syrup
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, butter, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix together until well blended.
- Press half of the oat mixture into an 8-inch square baking pan.
- Sprinkle chopped dates over top of the oat mixture.
- Pour syrup over the dates.
- Spread remaining oat mixture over the top of the dates and syrup.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
