Ingredients
1 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of chopped dates
1/2 cup of syrup
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, butter, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix together until well blended.
Press half of the oat mixture into an 8-inch square baking pan.
Sprinkle chopped dates over top of the oat mixture.
Pour syrup over the dates.
Spread remaining oat mixture over the top of the dates and syrup.
Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
