Ingredients
- 1/4 pound of Kefalotyri or Kasseri cheese, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
Directions
- Place the slices of cheese on a plate and season with salt and pepper.
- Dust the cheese slices lightly with flour.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the cheese slices to the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 1 to 2 minutes per side.
- Transfer the cheese slices to a serving plate.
- Squeeze the juice of the lemon wedges over the cheese slices.
- Sprinkle the oregano over the top.
- Serve warm.
