Wash and trim the okra, discarding any tough ends.
In a medium saucepan, combine the vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed, red pepper flakes, turmeric, garlic, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
Add the okra, stirring to coat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Pack the okra into a clean, sterilized jar. Pour the liquid over the okra, making sure it is completely covered.
Seal the jar and store in the refrigerator for up to a month.
