Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds of ground beef
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 leaves of lettuce
- 4 slices of tomato
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- BBQ sauce
- 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to incorporate the seasonings into the meat.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up on the grill.
- Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- During the last few minutes of grilling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt.
- While the burgers are grilling, prepare the aioli by combining the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Mix well.
- Once the burgers are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about a minute, until they are lightly toasted.
- To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of barbecue sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a grilled patty, a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce, and a few slices of red onion. Spread the aioli on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the burger.
- Serve the gourmet grilling burgers with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
