Ingredients
- 1 head of fresh broccoli, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 4 cups of chicken broth
- 1 cup of milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onion and broccoli and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the flour and stir until combined. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the milk and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese and serve.
