Ingredients

  • 1 bunch broccoli rabe
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges for serving

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Trim the tough ends of the broccoli rabe and blanch it in the boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the blanched broccoli rabe to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until it becomes tender.
  4. Add the drained and rinsed chickpeas to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the broccoli rabe. Cook for another 2 minutes.
