Garlic-Blue Cheese-and-Bacon Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, chilled and cubed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl and whisk together to combine.
  3. Add in the butter and use a pastry blender or two forks to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the garlic, bacon, and blue cheese.
  5. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 30 seconds.
  7. Roll the dough out to a 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out the biscuits.
  8. Place the biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with butter, if desired.
