Ingredients

  • 1 cup of long grain white rice
  • 1 can of gandules
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 cups of water

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the rice and stir until it is lightly toasted.
  3. Add the gandules and stir to combine.
  4. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, cumin powder, and black pepper and stir to combine.
  5. Add the water and stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
  7. Serve hot.
