Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the cubed panettone, melted butter and 1/2 cup of sugar. Mix until the cubes are evenly coated.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and stir in the milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and salt. Pour the egg mixture over the panettone and stir to combine.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, 1/4 cup of sugar and melted butter. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is bubbling.
Pour the orange sauce over the top of the bread pudding and serve.
