Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup lard
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
3-4 tablespoons cold water
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
In a bowl, mix together the flour and salt.
Add the lard and shortening to the bowl and mix with a fork until crumbly.
Add the cold water, one tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough comes together and forms a ball.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut the dough into 4 equal pieces.
Heat the oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium-high heat.
Fry the pie crust pieces in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil.
