Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup cold buttermilk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt
  3. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture looks like coarse meal
  4. Add the buttermilk and stir until the dough just comes together
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/2 inch thickness
  6. Cut with a biscuit cutter or a round drinking glass
  7. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown
