Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 2 cups frozen sliced strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Roll out the pie crust and place in a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges and bake for 12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the frozen strawberries, cornstarch, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  6. In a medium bowl, beat the heavy cream and confectioners' sugar until stiff peaks form.
  7. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the pie and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
