Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound lean ground beef
1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained, rinsed
1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained, rinsed
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 10 minutes, breaking up the beef with a spoon as it cooks.
Add the black beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the pot. Stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cheese, sliced jalapeños, and diced onions.
