Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean beef, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through.
  2. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring often.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Add to skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until sauce has thickened.
  5. Serve over rice or noodles.
