Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
    • Directions

      1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
      2. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and egg. Add this to the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
      3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.
      4. The next day, preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and roll it out on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/2-inch thick.
      5. Cut the dough into 12 equal-sized pieces. Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
      6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
