Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add the butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the butter is distributed evenly and the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the cold water and mix until the dough comes together.
  4. Form the dough into a disc and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
  5. When ready to use, roll out the dough and fit into a pie plate. Prick the bottom of the dough with a fork and bake according to the recipe.
