Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 package frozen spring roll wrappers, thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender, about 8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the curry powder, cumin, garam masala, chili powder, coriander, salt and pepper and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
  4. Lay out the spring roll wrappers on a clean surface and brush lightly with the beaten egg.
  5. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each wrapper and fold the edges up and around the filling to form a triangle. Press to seal.
  6. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the samosas in batches until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve.
