Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 of a small white onion, minced
- 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 package refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, cabbage, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over medium heat until the beef is browned, about 10 minutes. Drain off any excess fat.
- Stir in the cheese, rice, and melted butter.
- Roll out one of the pie crusts and cut into four circles using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass.
- Place one circle of dough onto a baking sheet. Place 1/4 of the meat mixture into the center of the circle and fold the dough over the mixture, pinching the edges to seal.
- Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the bierocks are golden brown.
- Serve warm.
