Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with milk.
  4. Stir in diced apples and caramel bits. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
