Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup applesauce
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups diced apples (about 2-3 apples)
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, oil, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until well blended.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in apples and walnuts (if desired).
- Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
