Ingredients
- 1 large bunch collard greens, chopped
- 2 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bottle beer
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- In a large pot over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy.
- Add the olive oil, onion, and garlic and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the collard greens and stir to combine. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the beer and spices and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook until the collard greens are tender and the beer has cooked off, about 25 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
