These New England Crab Cakes are a delightful combination of fresh crab meat, breadcrumbs, herbs, and spices. They are easy to make and perfect for a summer seafood meal. Serve them with a side of aioli and a squeeze of lemon for a delicious treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, bell pepper, green onions, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small patties and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help the cakes hold their shape.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the crab cakes in batches until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  5. Serve the New England Crab Cakes hot with aioli and lemon wedges on the side. Enjoy!
