Mom's Pumpkin Rolls are a delectable treat perfect for fall. These soft, fluffy rolls are filled with a spiced pumpkin filling and topped with a creamy frosting. They are great for breakfast, dessert, or a snack any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix sugar, warm milk, melted butter, pumpkin, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 2 cups of flour.
  3. Add yeast mixture and remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead for 6-8 minutes.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down dough and roll out into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll up dough tightly and cut into 12 rolls.
  8. Place in a greased 9x13 inch pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make frosting. Drizzle over warm rolls.
