  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped cucumber
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving
  • Red onion slices, for serving

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the lamb mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.

  5. To assemble the sandwiches, spread a generous amount of the yogurt sauce on the toasted hamburger buns. Place a few meatballs on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce leaves and red onion slices. Cover with the top half of the bun.
