Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the boiling water while stirring with a fork. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In the meantime, prepare the filling. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped cabbage, mushrooms, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
- After the dough has rested, roll it out on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8 inch thick. Use a round cookie cutter or a drinking glass to cut circles from the dough. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges together to seal the dumpling. Repeat until all the dough and filling are used.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Gently drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the dumplings from the pot and serve hot. You can serve them with soy sauce, chili oil, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
