Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the donuts comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off. Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack to set.
  10. Once the glaze is set, the donuts are ready to serve. Enjoy!
