Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 lbs apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, whipped

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. In a small bowl, beat egg, milk, and vanilla. Gradually add to flour mixture, mixing well. Press into the bottom of a greased 9-inch springform pan. Bake at 350°F for 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned.
  3. In a saucepan, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, and water. Cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until apples are tender. Cool slightly. Spoon over crust.
