- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 apples, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups stale bread cubes
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Directions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Add the diced apples, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried rosemary, dried sage, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the apples are slightly softened.
