Ingredients

  • For the pizza crust:
  • - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • - 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • - 1 teaspoon salt
  • - 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 3/4 cup warm water
  • For the toppings:
  • - 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • - 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - 1 cup diced bell peppers (red, green, and yellow)
  • - 1/2 cup sliced red onions
  • - 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • - 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • - Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt for the pizza crust. Make a well in the center and add the olive oil and warm water. Stir until the dough comes together.
  2. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Shape the dough into a ball.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. Punch down the dough to remove the air bubbles. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape and thickness.
  6. Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the tomato sauce, dried oregano, and garlic powder. Spread the sauce evenly over the pizza crust.
  8. Scatter the diced bell peppers, sliced red onions, and black olives over the sauce. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese on top.
  9. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve hot.
