- 1 teaspoon orange zest
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, warm milk, melted butter, orange zest, cardamom, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle of about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Spread softened butter evenly over the dough.
