These chocolate cream puff swans are a decadent and impressive dessert that will wow your guests. The delicate cream puffs filled with rich chocolate cream and shaped into graceful swan forms make for a stunning and delicious treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil. Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  4. Pipe the dough into swan shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Let cool completely.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  7. Melt semi-sweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and let it cool slightly. Fold in whipped cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  8. Cut the tops off the cooled cream puffs and fill with the chocolate cream.
  9. For the swan necks, melt white chocolate chips in a piping bag and pipe S-shaped necks onto parchment paper. Let them set.
  10. Assemble the swans by placing the cream puffs on top of the chocolate cream-filled bases and attaching the white chocolate necks.
