  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth and melted.
  3. Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into an even 1/4-inch thick layer using a spatula.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to allow the dark chocolate to set.
  5. In another microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth and melted.
  6. Stir in the peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.
  7. Take out the baking sheet from the refrigerator and pour the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer, spreading it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the top of the white chocolate layer, pressing them down gently.
  9. Return the baking sheet to the refrigerator for another 15 minutes to allow the white chocolate to set.
  10. Once set, remove the peppermint bark from the refrigerator and break it into small pieces.
  11. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
