Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds pork tenderloin, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, vegetable oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, ground ginger, and chili powder. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Add the pork tenderloin strips to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the pork from the marinade and thread the strips onto soaked bamboo skewers, evenly distributing the meat.
  4. Place the pork skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 4-6 minutes per side, or until the meat is cooked through and slightly charred.
  5. While the pork is grilling, prepare the peanut sauce. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
  6. Once the pork skewers are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Serve the Indonesian Pork Satay with the warm peanut sauce on the side. Enjoy!
