Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds pork tenderloin, cut into thin strips
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- Bamboo skewers, soaked in water
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, vegetable oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, ground ginger, and chili powder. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Add the pork tenderloin strips to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the pork from the marinade and thread the strips onto soaked bamboo skewers, evenly distributing the meat.
- Place the pork skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 4-6 minutes per side, or until the meat is cooked through and slightly charred.
- While the pork is grilling, prepare the peanut sauce. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
- Once the pork skewers are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the Indonesian Pork Satay with the warm peanut sauce on the side. Enjoy!
