- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix until blended.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan. In a bowl, mix together the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts. Spread over the dough.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool before cutting into bars.
