Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound smoked sausage, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sausage and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the white wine, thyme, marjoram, and black pepper and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the beef broth and bring to a boil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until combined.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the skillet and stir until the gravy is thickened, about 3 minutes.
- Serve the sausage and gravy over mashed potatoes.
