Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.
Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
Let cool on cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
