Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable or canola oil, for frying

Directions

  1. Cut the turkey or chicken into 2-3 inch cubes and place in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, and baking powder.
  3. Pour the buttermilk into the bowl with the turkey or chicken and mix to combine.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the bowl and mix until all of the pieces are evenly coated.
  5. Heat 1-2 inches of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Once the oil is hot, add the pieces of turkey or chicken to the skillet and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the turkey or chicken nuggets from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
