- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups frozen corn
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 2-quart baking dish with butter.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Simmer over low heat until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in corn and cream. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
