Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the beef, bread crumbs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and egg. Shape into 1-inch meatballs.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook meatballs until browned. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat, add the meatballs, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve with toothpicks.
