Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into serving pieces
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 medium potatoes, cut into cubes
- 2 medium carrots, sliced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat cooking oil in a large pan or pot over medium heat.
- Sauté garlic and onions until fragrant and translucent.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce, soy sauce, and fish sauce (if using).
- Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add potatoes and carrots. Cook for another 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- Add bell peppers, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Simmer for another 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
