- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or butter.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and mix until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using.
- Form the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
