Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and mix until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using.
  5. Form the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
