Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined.
  3. Add egg and molasses and whisk until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until well combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or two spoons, form dough into balls and place onto prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack.
