Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, molasses, and vanilla extract.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Flatten dough slightly with your hands.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
