  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Mix in the chocolate chips and pecans.
  7. Drop cookie dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
