Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, melt the butter in the water over medium heat. Add the flour and stir until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from the heat and let cool.
- In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla extract, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until thoroughly combined.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drop the dough by the tablespoonful onto the parchment paper. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate chips and cream. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir until smooth. Add the chopped pecans to the chocolate mixture and stir until combined.
- Cut the cooled cream puffs in half. Place a spoonful of the chocolate mixture onto the bottom half of each puff. Place the top half on top of the filling and serve.
