Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar, for sprinkling

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each one.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and milk.
  8. Add the cocoa mixture to the other ingredients and mix until just combined.
  9. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  10. Pour the batter into a greased and floured bundt or tube pan.
  11. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  12. Let cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a cooling rack.
  13. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar before serving.
