Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup marzipan, cut into small cubes

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and marzipan cubes.
  6. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
