Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can of diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (15.5 ounce) can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce
- 12 ounces ziti noodles, cooked
- Shredded cheese for topping
Directions
- In a large pot or skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it is browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, garlic, oregano, chili powder, paprika, cumin, and sugar. Stir to combine and cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and tomato sauce to the pot. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the chili is thickened, about 45 minutes.
- Add the cooked ziti noodles to the pot and stir to combine.
- Serve the chili with ziti with a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
