Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Chicken
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Water Chestnuts
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon White Pepper
  • Wonton Wrappers
  • 1 Egg, Beaten
  • Vegetable Oil, for Frying

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, green onions, water chestnuts, ginger powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and white pepper. Stir until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  2. Lay out one wonton wrapper. Place 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of the wrapper. Use your finger to moisten the edges of the wrapper with a bit of the beaten egg.
  3. Fold the wrapper in half, making sure to press along the edges to seal the wonton. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and chicken mixture.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add enough oil to the skillet to cover the bottom. When the oil is hot, add the wontons and fry for about 3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Transfer the cooked wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  5. Serve the wontons with a variety of dipping sauces.
