Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Chicken
- 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions
- 1/4 cup Chopped Water Chestnuts
- 1 teaspoon Ginger Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon White Pepper
- Wonton Wrappers
- 1 Egg, Beaten
- Vegetable Oil, for Frying
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, green onions, water chestnuts, ginger powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and white pepper. Stir until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Lay out one wonton wrapper. Place 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of the wrapper. Use your finger to moisten the edges of the wrapper with a bit of the beaten egg.
- Fold the wrapper in half, making sure to press along the edges to seal the wonton. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and chicken mixture.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add enough oil to the skillet to cover the bottom. When the oil is hot, add the wontons and fry for about 3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Transfer the cooked wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve the wontons with a variety of dipping sauces.
